Read every tile
Green means correct position. Yellow means the letter belongs somewhere else. Gray rules out a letter for the remaining unmatched places.
Make the next guess count
Keep green letters fixed, move yellow letters, and test new letters that can narrow the answer without wasting a turn.
Pro tip: repeated letters need special attention. If your guess contains two copies of a letter but the answer contains only one, only one tile can be counted as a match.

Correctly placed letters are counted first. Remaining copies can only be marked as matches if the answer contains enough copies of that letter.
