The objective

Fill every open square with letters that form valid answers to the Across and Down clues.

How to play Mini Crossword

1. 01

   Choose an Across or Down clue, or select a square in the grid to activate its entry.

2. 02

   Type the answer into the active row or column. The crossing squares show where the intersecting answer must share a letter.

3. 03

   Select a clue in the other direction to switch between Across and Down. Selecting the same square again can also change direction.

4. 04

   Use arrow keys to move through the grid, Backspace to erase, and Enter to change direction.

5. 05

   Use Check answers to review entries, Reveal a letter when you need help, or Clear grid to start again.

Mini Crossword rules

• The puzzle uses a five-by-five crossword grid with numbered Across and Down entries.
• Each answer must fit its numbered run of open squares.
• Crossing answers share a square, so the same letter must work in both directions.
• Daily and practice puzzles are separate modes.
